Haslam-Owned Pilot Flying J Employees Headed to Trial Next Month on Federal Fraud Charges

It’s good news that punishment is being passed out here. The sad thing is that this is taking so long to accomplish. First complaints were in 2012. The biggest problem with our justice system is that it is no longer swift and certain. And of course these brothers are the owners of the Cleveland Browns and the Governor of Tennessee.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Former top executives at Pilot Flying J – the family business of Browns’ owner Jimmy Haslam – were indicted on federal charges involving a massive rebate fraud committed against trucking companies, according to documents unsealed Tuesday.

The company’s past president, Mark Hazelwood, was accused of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and witness tampering. The charges stem from allegations that sales employees withheld millions of dollars in agreed-upon rebates to trucking companies. Read more here.
