Our Justice Department is trying to stop funding sanctuary cities. We knew the liberals would sue and they did. We also thought that the liberal district courts would rule in favor of the cites. They did. But then they did something odd and claimed that their ruling applied to the entire country, not merely their district.

In our never ending quest to defund Google by not using it, we continue this week to find alternatives to Google Maps. We usually concentrate on finding alternatives that are “just as good”. Most of us worry about monopolies. The thing we forget is that outside of a government-granted monopoly, a business can’t accomplish it. They might want to, but it can’t be done in a capitalist society. Huge businesses love government intrusion. They know that they can afford the costs and that it will run off small competitors.

This is troubling. You shouldn’t have to vet your repairman for their connections to law enforcement. The practice of our government train a third party to spy on you without a warrant should be illegal. This begs for an investigation and some public flogging.

I rarely if ever advocate for Federal Government intrusion into the marketplace. I want less government, not more. This is a unique situation, because there is no marketplace here.
